About this deal

The labels on the pots provide clear identification of the paint color and effect, making it easy to locate the desired paint in your collection. These are specialised paints to help you achieve a range of different effects including dripping blood, textured bases, and finishing varnishes. Churned earth, grisly gore, rust and corrosion or spectral glows – each makes for an eye-catching way to finish your miniatures. I’ll show you my method for applying Astrogranite Debris using the Warhammer 40k miniature, Operative Umbral-Six.

Luckily, if it does become an issue I think it would be easy to apply a bit more snow where stuff has fallen off. When applied to a miniature’s base or any other suitable surface, Agrellan Earth adds a distinct dimension of realism. There are two tips, a thin and wide end, that help you spread textured paste wherever you need it to go. That said, it is hard to see how a wash and a drybrush will achieve exactly the results they have on their pictures. Minimal painting effort on top of the material will make it look great (and help differentiate it from others who have used the same material).

Stirland Mud: A thick, brown paint that comes loaded with texture, it can be used to give the effect of mud, soil, or dirt. They are designed to give your miniatures a unique look and texture, with a wide variety of colors and textures available.

A single 24ml pot of Citadel Texture paint will cover many small sized bases for your miniature collection. In conclusion, creating a realistic and eye-catching base for your wargaming miniatures is an essential part of the painting process, and using Citadel Technical Paints can make the task much easier. Please note our Royal Mail service is not tracked, and if you require tracking for your parcel, you should choose UPS at checkout. When first I had it on the base it was manageable to move it around – but also a bit tricky at times. Right of the bat, it is clear to see what the difference there is between these versions and the earlier grit versions, at least if you see them side by side as above. All of my test bases went through the process of being in a plastic bag together while I moved house.

GW do a very good job of producing various painting videos on their youtube channel, so take a look there. It’s a water-based formula that’s easy to use and can be applied over white or other colors for eye-catching results. It is possible to find them in a smaller version, but if you intend to use it for basing your whole army, you should probably go with the big version. Enhance your painting projects, add that extra layer of detail, and make your models truly stand out on the battlefield or display shelf. Both versions can be drybrushed, but with booth earth version you will notice some of the texture coming off. The Citadel Technical Range is not only about adding texture and effects but also about enhancing the overall realism of your miniatures. It replaces the earlier snow pigment GW made and is my opinion very good compared to what GW made earlier. It features a thick grey base infused with actual bits of debris, adding an authentic texture to your miniatures. It can take between 10-30 minutes for a layer of technical paint to dry depending on the ambient humidity and temperature of your room.
